Good morning, Odd Friends… Leah the Orange here, posting a little earlier than usual (expect our next challenge to go live in an hour, on schedule!), with some news to share.
First of all, I’d like to give a big THANK YOU to our fabulously Odd team, for the wonderful work they’ve been doing since the beginning of their term. The Odd Girls and the Nouveau Girls alike have been wowing with their creations, and as someone who’s been along for the ride the entire time, I must say, these ladies are FIERCE and RELENTLESS! They stun me with their ingenuity and fresh ideas, and I am finding myself gasping when I see their projects posted behind the scenes. That said, we are VERY sad to have to say goodbye to one of our Odd Girls this term, a little earlier than we’d all like, and we are certainly going to miss her fun combinations of shabby chic and bold and bright, her gorgeous distressing, daring layers, stunning stitching, and the fun approach she takes to our challenges and reveals. Today, we say ADIEU to Chupa, as she takes her crafting into a more focused direction (did you know that Chupa is a designer for Spellbinders?! yep, she’s THAT GOOD!), and we wish her all the best in her creative endeavors! Chupa, thank you for your time as an Odd Girl, and for showing our SOGgies a wonderful amount of love! We’ll miss you around these parts! xo
So that’s the sad news. But with sad news, it’s always nice when there’s something positive to share too, right? We definitely have some of that!
It is with a big smile and heaps of excitement that I get to introduce the newest Odd Girl to our team… You may recognize her from various challenge blogs, and her gorgeous coloring always packs a punch! She’s played along with our challenges before, and I, personally, am in awe of the beautiful bright colors and fun combinations of patterns she chooses for her creations. Please join me in giving a very WARM, ODD welcome to Arabella!
She blogs at Chickie Chirps, and here’s a little bit about our new gal….
Hi, my name is Arabella and I’m so excited to be here!!! I’m a Kiwi currently working as a chef on a superyacht in Greece with my husband. I craft whenever we get time off and I love to play with Copics and pretty paper. I’m also a bit of an online shopaholic… there don’t seem to be many craft shops around in Athens, so I do a lot of online ordering and get lots of parcels (much to my husband’s dismay)! Getting beautiful new stuff to play with is one of the best parts of card making! I’m really looking forward to being a part of this fabulous team and getting to play with Kristy’s awesome images!
We’re totally excited to kick things off for May, and thrilled that Arabella joined us! That said, I shall leave you to prepare, as we are about to launch our May Sketch Challenge. So come back in an hour with your crafty supplies in hand, because you’re sure to want to join us! See you soon!
