From Tractors to Turtles!

From Tractors to Turtles!

Okie dokie, folks!  Leah the Orange with you for a happy little project feature today…  I wanted to make something a little different, and I’ve had these classic notecards and boxes for a while, so it was high time they were repurposed and made CUTE!

I busted out my Hey Kaylee and Sunny Mae clear stamp sets and went to town on a keepsake/memento box for those quirky little things I can’t manage to toss.  You know, things like movie stubs, love notes left in my lunchbox, swizzle sticks and spoons from favorite ice cream parlors, coasters and receipts and napkins with logos on them.  Just TRY to tell me you don’t have a box full of this stuff too (and I won’t believe you!).  Some of those things make it onto scrapbook pages, and some of them, well they just sit.  So why not find a CUTER way to store them?  At least this way, if they never end up on an actual project, they have a happy little home that’s just for them…

So last night, within just a couple of hours, my memento box was born!
Here’s what’s holding all those little goodies now:

And the inside, with some papers to cover up a set of giant tractors (!!!):

Here’s its mate, a classic John Deere set I grabbed in the
clearance stationery section of WalMart (for 50 cents!):

Yep, definitely needed to do something different!  🙂  The turtle and snail from Hey Kaylee have gotten a lot of mileage on my projects, and they were the perfect size for this little box.  Colored ’em up with my Copics, then I stamped and cut some clouds from Sunny Mae to match the colors in the papers (which are from Ruby Rock It and BasicGrey), Doodlebug trim and K & Company chipboard words (doodled on ’em with a black Sharpie) plus a couple of little flowers also from K & C, stickers from My Mind’s Eye, Martha Stewart twine and buttons from my stash.  Hubbin says it’s busy as all get-out, but that’s just what I do.  :))  Whatcha think?

That’s gonna do it for today, friends!  Hope you rikey, and hope you’ll join us again
tomorrow for something extra spesh from The Odd Girl herself!  Happy crafting!

  2. Oh, sooooo cute! I have a drawer of odds and ends and I guess I need to make a box for it all! TFS!

  3. This is totally adorable!! I love the fringe, and of course your SOGGY colored creations!
