And for today’s spotlight, Fabric Fabulosity!

WOOT!  Friday!  Leah the Orange here, and I’ve been doing a lot of perusing this week, to feast my eyes on all of your WONDERFUL Odd creations.  There are so many projects totally worthy of a spotlight, but alas, I had to narrow it down to just ONE creation…

Were you hanging out in our Facebook group for Facebook Fun Day, last Saturday?  If you weren’t, you certainly missed out!  A good time was had by all, lots of AWESOME tutorials were shared, and our participants seemed to enjoy themselves a whole bunch.  You really should try to join us for the next one (which, naturally, is already in the works!), because there are short sales, challenges, tutorials, random silly questions and heaps of conversation during these events.  We saw some new faces and AMAZING projects submitted for our challenges, including today’s spotlight…

So we challenged you to do some coloring on FABRIC.  Sounds really scary, right?  Well our friends ran with that baton, and ROCKED the house down.  I’d like to share one particular project from our Facebook Fun Day event that really captured my attention.  Check out Andrea‘s gorgeous card featuring the delightfully nerdy Bookish Tia!

Even when you look at this image up close, you can see that Andrea colored softly enough to not oversaturate her fabric, and she blended everything so smoothly that the color didn’t end up muddy or blotchy.  Such a fun technique, and Andrea really wowed me with this one!  I love that the rest of the card only highlights the image, rather than drawing away from it.  Bookish Tia looks deeply engrossed in her book, and I LOVE the texture the fabric adds to the project.

Andrea, GORGEOUS work!  Thank you so much for playing along during Facebook Fun Day, and congratulations on your SOGgy Spotlight today!

And with that, dear Odd friends, I just want to remind you that you have a LITTLE bit of time to get in on our September Sketch Challenge – this one runs through tomorrow night at midnight EST (September 29th), and there are two prizes up for grabs;  3 digis of your choice to one randomly drawn winner, and a 4″ x 6″ clear stamp of your choice for our fave project!  Remember you must use a Some Odd Girl stamp or image, so HURRY!  🙂  There’s still time!

OH, and in case you missed it, I also threw down a MONOCHROMATIC COLORING CHALLENGE that is running all month, so all you have to do is upload your newly created project to our Facebook group (using any Some Odd Girl image), and there’s a special little something in it for one lucky winner!  It all ends on Sunday night!

Have a brilliantly ODD weekend, folks, and we can’t wait to see you next week when we bring you some winner announcements, another featured digi, and four more days of featured projects and tutorials to bring us to our next release!  We hope you’re ready for it!  😀

oh and one more thing. Our illustrious illustrator Kristy is having a birthday celebration on her blog starting Monday and going all October long!

Hop over to see what the buzz is about and grab that sidebar badge! There’s RAKs, giveaways and tuts involved people!
