Challenge/Tut @ 10am: Annette

Good Morning Oddies… Annette here with you for the first Facebook Fun Day Challenge of the day. I am so happy you are here with me and excited to get your crafty fingers to work.  I am challenging you today to use different fibers to print on and/or on your project.  Today I am sharing with you an easy way to print on fabric and color with Copic Sketch Markers. I hope you are ready…lets get started..

First I adhered the fabric to a piece of paper. Now you can buy fabric that already has adhesive on it at JoAnn’s and Michael’s or you can purchase fabric glue.  Both will work, but if you buy the fabric glue you have to allow plenty of time for it to dry before running it through your printer.

I have an inkjet printer from HP, so you do not have to have a fancy printer to make this work.

I then started to color with my Copic Sketch Markers. Now if you decide to do this it is very important that you glide the markers very lightly as you do not want to soak the fabric with the ink other wise it will just bleed out the lines. Which, as you can see mine did a little.  I was experimenting not knowing how the Copic would absorb into the fabric. I was able to add a little blending still being cautious of how much ink I was using. I have to say I was impressed on how the Copic Sketch Markers colored on the fabric. This will not be my last time using this technique.

Well now Cowgirl Mae is all colored in and ready to be cut out.

Next I have picked out what paper and twine I am going to use.

I decided to wrap the twine and make it look a little like her lasso.

Cowgirl Mae is coming together and we are almost done.

Well we need a cute saying on our card. I am using the October Afternoon Sasparilla 8×8 paper pad collection for this card. It has this cute page with all these letters. I think I can come up with something fun.

Well there you go Cowgirl Mae is ready and looking cute as ever.

I hope you have enjoyed the first challenge, I look forward to seeing your amazing creations! You have thru tomorrow (sept 23) at midnight EST to link up your projects for this challenge below. The winner of this challenge will get 3 Digis of their choice from the shop so you could rope yourself your own Cowgirl if you’d like too.

We have a day full of fun projects by the design team and might even be a few giveaways. Make sure and stay tuned for whats coming next on our Facebook Fun Day. Happy Crafting.
