Let it Snow with Rachel

How much fun is everyone having on this awesome SOG Facebook Fun Day!!! Rachel here with your second tutorial of the day! It’s so great for all of us to get together and talk about our latest projects, fav stamps, and check out each others gorgeous creations!!!

The recent clear stamp, and digital stamp releases were super AWESOME!!  They also bring to mind the fact that the holidays are soon approaching!  There are several images from SOG that would look fabulous with a snowy/wintery background!  That being said, I decided to grab two of the recent digi releases and made a winter wonderland!

The first project is an adorable gift tag, or bookmark. (I really think it could be either!)

First, I created a tag with kraft paper.  I also grabbed my turquoise Perfect Pearls Mists.

Next, I lightly sprayed the paper, just to give it a hint of a shimmery blue background.

After that dried, I got out some Stazon Opaque white ink, and my Winter Warmth Kaylee set so I could place a few white snowflakes on the tag.

Now, for a bit more shimmer, I got out the ol’ heat embossing gun so I could add some slightly raised, bright white snowflakes too!

Now the background has a bit of a layered look to it with all of the shimmer, and different depths of snowflakes! Now for the final touches..

Added some patterned papers, a handy SOG sentiment, some washi tape, twine and button..and cutie patootie WINTER TOBIE!!!

One more angle..(hard to get the light just right!)

Voila!  A nice little wintery scene! I also grabbed little Snowball Tia for some winter fun!

She is going to be a fun Christmas ornament!  I just distressed the paper after printing her, cut out some fun nestie shapes, and added random dots of Liquid Pearls for a snowy appearance!

How easy was that!!??  I will be making several more of these in the upcoming weeks, they will be great holiday gifts!

What techniques do you use for snowy/winter scenes?  I would love to see other snow inspired tips from this talented group of SOG fans!
