New Sketch Challenge… and NEW ODD GIRLS!

New Sketch Challenge… and NEW ODD GIRLS!

Holy wowza, it’s NOVEMBER!  🙂  Happy Thursday, Odd friends!  It’s Leah the Orange, and I am totally excited to be here to kick off a new month with you at Some Odd Girl!  There are a couple of BIG things to take care of today – let’s show you this month’s sketch for the challenge first, shall we?  Here we go!  😀

Some fun elements here (love that banner, and I’m a sucker for rounded corners!), but remember, you don’t have to stick to the same SHAPES you see in the sketch – feel free to flip the sketch, substitute the circle with a flower or a hexagon or something, or leave it off altogether, and the pieces can be wider or narrower if they work better for you.  The only things to keep in mind are that we MUST be able to see the sketch in your project, there is no backlinking to old projects, and you absolutely MUST use a Some Odd Girl stamp in your creation.  Can ya handle it?  We know you can!

So, before we share our Odd Girls‘ gorje pieces of inspiration, I have some BIG news to share first!  We are VERY pleased to introduce the newest Odd Girl in our quirky little family!  Please give a warm welcome to TRACY VALURE!  🙂

Hi, I’m Tracy! I live in South florida. I am married to my bestie for the last 13 years. Together we have 2 children (12 and 8)  I work as an administrative assistant, full time.  I’ve been stamping for about 11 or so years now. I also scrapbook just not as often as I would like anymore.  We love to travel and I love to read and bake!

You can visit her blog, Tracy’s Stamping Corner, to feast your eyes on her many stunning creations, but you’ll be seeing a lot of her around these parts now, so keep your eyes peeled because we’ll be sharing her first project as an Odd Girl very soon!

Okay, so let’s get to the challenge…  Here’s what our team did with this inspiring sketch:

Kristy used Thank You Mae

Annette used Big Pressie Tia

Faye used Summer Kaylee

Rachel used Winter Friends

Lou Mac using Deer Mae

Leah C using Fall Friends

Vera using Winter Friends

Åsa using Pink Ribbon Mae

Melissa using Tobie and his Puppy

Anna Sigga using 1920’s Kody

Yep, that oughta do it!  Ready to get your craft on?  You have until midnight EST on Thursday, November 29th to enter this challenge, and we will have TWO winners – one randomly drawn winner gets to choose 3 digis from – and the fave project gets the 4″ x 6″ clear stamp set of their choice!  Ready, set, CRAFT!  🙂

And before we leave you to your coloring, we have one more bit of happy to share…  We are super excited to introduce our November and December GUEST ODD GIRL, Tara!

My name is Tara and I’m a 20-something year old Mama of a 4 year-old princess and her three teenage step brothers.  I’m a Senior Avionics Systems Engineer anywhere from 40 – 60 hours a week, depending on the week.  I’m a heavy metal nerd at heart, complete with Soilwork tees, tattoos, fantasy fiction, and math jokes. When I’m not on Mama duty, I’m crafting, playing World of Warcraft, pretending to be a photographer, watching Walking Dead, or re-reading Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series [that series has controlled my literary life for over a decade!].  That’s me in a nutshell!  Thank you so much to Kristy for giving me the opportunity to play along with Some Odd Girl, and I’m stoked to be a guest among this amazing design team!

You’ll be seeing Tara’s work very soon, too, and we are THRILLED that she’s joining us for the next couple of months.  We’re sure that both Tracy and Tara will be inspiring US, just as they’ll be inspiring YOU!
