Tracy’s showing you how to make your own treat box!
by Kristy on February 27, 2013

Hello! Tracy here today with a treat box tutorial using Cuppa Mae.

Sorry for so many pictures. I probably should have made a video tutorial but in these cases I personally like photo tutorials because I don’t have to pause at certain points to “catch up”. Today’s tutorial will give you step by step instructions to create a simple treat box using a 12×12 sheet of paper.

You are going to start by scoring your 12×12 cardstock at 3″ and 9″.  Then you are going to fold the cardstock at the score lines.

Unfold your cardstock and then score the other side at 5″ and 7″.

Crease all your score lines. This is the tricky part. Fold in your 3″ and 9″ score lines. The cardstock should meet up in the middle.  Take the cardstock in the middle and pull it to the outside as shown below. Crease the fold – do this to all 4 sides.

You should get something that looks like this:

Once you do that, use some heavy duty tape (i.e. Scor-tape, red-line or ATG) and adhere the pieces sides together like in the photo below.

You should end up with something like this:

That middle area is what will be your “box”.

Add a flap and decorate the outside any way that you want to.

I punched 2 holes all the way through and sealed the box using some ribbon.

Here is a side view of the box:

I filled mine with tea bags. It creates a good size box so you could fill it with candy, 2 or 3 K-cups or other small items.
