ANNNNNNND happy Friday, Odd friends! Hope you’ve enjoyed all the festivities this week, and I hope you’re geared up for a weekend of crafting and TONS OF FUN with the Odd Girls!
You DO know what tomorrow is, dontcha? Please tell me you’re aware that it’s WORLD CARD MAKING DAY! Crafters everywhere will be doing their thang, and so will we! We invite you to play along at Some Odd World and hang out with us in our Facebook group, take part in the discussions and watch for special, um, EVENTS. That’s all I’m gonna say. Ya gotta be IN IT TO WIN IT! Or something like that. 🙂
Anywho, I’m spotlighting TEXTURES today, because I am a touchie-feelie kinda gal and when I see stuff like this, it just makes me want to reach out and pet the screen. Are you a texture person, or do you tend to go for more flat and uniform creations? I know textures aren’t always IDEAL and really depend on the occasion, but if I could stick a big, layery, fluffy card into any envelope and not have to worry about additional postage or whether it would arrive at its destination intact, I’d use burlap, ribbon, twine, buttons, felt and whatever else on EVERY. SINGLE. CARD.
Feast your eyes on these beauties, shared at Some Odd World:
Did you catch that? Did you see how CLEVERLY Natalia incorporated the TULLE into her creation? I love the wings and the skirt on Pixie (digi), but that wired sentiment is pretty sweet too, isn’t it?! LOVE!
How about this one?
Um… yeah! Besides Mad Scientist Tobie (digi) being popped up, there’s not a LOT of actual texture here (the chevvies are raised), but seriously, it sure looks like there is! This mixed media fabulosity comes from Tammy, and she kinda rocked my world with this one!
And then there’s this:
That ribbon flower. SPEECHLESS HERE! (okay, so that’s a bit of an exaggeration – i NEVER run out of things to say!)
Olivia made that amazing ribbon flower and I’m feeling like I may DIE if i don’t get some cheesecloth right now. LOVE that flower, Birthday Mae (clear) looks so bright and bubbly, and the little cupcake accent! This is one of those moments when I want to pet my screen.
Ladies, thank you all SO MUCH for sharing your creations with us, and for all the inspiration! I am LOVING the projects, and I can’t wait to see what fun stuff will pop up in our gallery this weekend!
Before I leave you to your Friday Festivities, I want to direct your attention to the following Odd Girls‘ personal blogs – if you haven’t seen our digi release this week, you are TRULY missing out! But a couple of quick clicks and you’ll know what I’m talking ”bout! Our Zombie Kody and Zombie Mae are making special appearances at:
