Good morning Oddies! You’ve got Judy here with you today and I am going to show you a quick and easy Altered Notebook Tutorial, a project you can make using the new School Supplies clear set. For some of you, school will be starting in just a few short weeks, and this little notebook will be perfect for keeping your student organized. Be ready, because all of their friends will want one too!
You will need a mini composition notebook, some scraps of paper, and your basic paper crafting tools, and the cute new School Supplies clear stamp set. You can follow the same steps to make a large notebook too.
You will want to cover the front and back with your paper. Trace around the notebook to make a cut line, adding a little extra room to fold it over the edges. Then cut the paper out.
Add adhesive to the paper, place it on the front and back cover, have the paper overlap the spine tape, then fold the edges over and glue them to the inside. Use a bone folder to make it smooth and flat.
Cut two pieces of paper that are a little smaller than the cover, then round the corners on one side. These will go on the inside of the front and back covers. This will give your note book a nice clean and complete look. Then cut a strip of paper to use for your sentiment.
Attach the strip of paper to the inside front cover before you put the other piece paper over the inside of the covers.
Now you will wrap the strip around the front cover and over the spine. I added some staples before I glued it down, just as embellishment. Once it is attached you can stamp your sentiment. The paper I used looks like tablet paper, and I used the sentiment “just a note”. This sentiment comes with the School Supplies clear stamp set. I also used the little pencil that comes in this set as the main focus of the cover.
To finish it off, I added some washi tape as tab dividers. Here’s the before and after. Like I said, this project is super easy.
Be sure to grab a few composition notebooks when you are out shopping for back to school and decorate them up with the fun School Supplies clear stamp set. This set is an A+ for sure!
