Digi Release Day and a Guest Designer!

Digi Release Day and a Guest Designer!

Good morning, Oddies!  It’s digi release day!

Alexis here, happy to introduce our special Guest Odd Girl for the month of October!

Elle Lindgren was the winner of our very first release party in our Facebook community

Elle was given her pick of the October digi release images (she’s knocking them out of the park!), and each Tuesday for the rest of the month, you’ll get to see another of her awesome creations!

For her first guest appearance, and today’s digi release, we’re sharing a beauty using the new Scarecrow digi stamp.  It’s so much fun I can’t tear my eyes away from it!  See for yourself…

Elle Scarecrow

All those colors and fun textures (and mismatched socks)!  I can’t get enough!  The
whole ensemble makes me want to burst into song and follow a yellow brick road!

In Elle‘s own words:

First, let me just extend a very BIG thank you to Kristy and the whole Odd Girls DT.  I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to take part in their creative process, and play with the incredible new Digis!

The moment I saw the Scarecrow digi, I knew I just had to color him.  He is absolutely adorable, and full of amazing little details that can make the whole image pop.  And since he’s a Scarecrow, coloring him is very forgiving!  The mismatched clothing means crazy color combinations, and a coloring mistake can easily turn into a stain or hole – the clothing is old, after all.

After a lot of internal debating, I chose to go with some classic autumn colors; dark red and grayish blue.  After the Scarecrow was colored in, I cut around him with a pair of sharp scissors.

I found the perfect paper with matching tones in my stash, and used my BigShot to die-cut a lot of different shaped panels.  I layered them onto the card and added the Scarecrow digi.  I really liked the button eye, so I made my sentiment and embellishments circular – a few enamel dots and a piece of flair.

Today, in addition to this cute Scarecrow, we also have Lion Tobie, a Princess Castle Card (with a cut file to match!) and a pack of Loopy Sentiments.  You TOTALLY want to visit the following Odd Girls’ blogs to see today’s digi release items in action…
