Giving Thanks – a simple and meaningful DIY

Giving Thanks – a simple and meaningful DIY

Hello and good morning Oddies!

It’s Nicole here ready to share a DIY project about giving thanks.

For me, November is all about being grateful and giving thanks for all the amazing things in my life.  I’ve created a project featuring Some Odd Girl’s Cut File: Loopy Sentiments V4. There are a ton of sentiments and cut files available HERE in the Some Odd Girl shop.  I use my Silhouette Cameo to do my cutting for the sentiments and the tag shapes.

I used a few chalkboard ornaments, Loopy Sentiments V4, Some Odd Girl’s Sunshine Sorbet paper pad, solid card stock, hemp twine and clothes pins, plus a handful of embellishments like the Sorbet Sequins and Hexie Dots.

I’m bringing an interactive activity this year to Thanksgiving dinner!

These ornaments will be displayed and family members can write on a paper circle what they are thankful for and attach it to the back of the ornament (with the clothes pin, or you can use any kind of fun paper clips).  Or they can write what they hope for in the new year and their sentiments will be placed behind the hope ornament.  Ensure that family members put their name on the back of their paper circle.

I plan to store these on a Giving Thanks layout and I’ll bring them out next year at Thanksgiving so we can reflect back on 2015.  We can share what went well, what goals we achieved, what we might try to do differently, and certainly our new sentiments and hopes as we look back on the year.

Thanks for stopping by and viewing my project.  I encourage you all to take some time for giving thanks and making your holidays meaningful and special for you and your family or loved ones.

By the way, our November Linky Party has begun!  Link up ANY projects you create using  Some Odd Girl stamps during the month of November, and you could be spotlighted!  Getting spotlighted earns you a spot here on the blog and a free digi stamp from the Some Odd Girl shop
