Hol-ODD-Day Hop, day 2 – shaker box!

Hol-ODD-Day Hop, day 2 – shaker box!

Welcome to day 2 of our Hol-ODD-Day Hop.  The Odd Girls are so excited to be sharing holiday ideas with you throughout the week. As you know Christmas will soon be knocking on our doors.

Ready to personalize your gift boxes, Oddies?  Melissa here, and it’s easy to take a boring plain gift box and make it FAB!  The results are marvelous and, for me, the added bonus is no gift wrapping (I hate gift wrapping).  Your box will be a keepsake, not something tossed into the fireplace, like wrapping paper.  This time of year you can usually find plain boxes everywhere, but big box craft stores usually carry them all year long.

I started with the adorable Mommy & Baby Penguin digi stamp.  I like using digital on projects where I need to enlarge my image to fit correctly.  Mommy and Baby Penguin were colored with Copic Markers.

I made the lid of the box into a shaker top.  I put in a few snowflakes but to add sparkle I used Sorbet Sequins.  Paper was measured and cut and everything was glued into place using products from Beacon – their adhesives are the best!

Now think about how a bunch of these decorated boxes would look under the Christmas tree or across a mantle…  Kind of adorable, right?

Come back tomorrow because you don’t want to miss what Stephanie has created for you!  If you haven’t already done the Hol-ODD-Day Hop, CLICK HERE to go to yesterday’s post and get the whole run down.  You won’t want to miss ANY of the stops to see what the Odd Girls created for this fun and festive occasion!

Happy Hol-ODD-Day Crafting!
