Inspiration: ODD Magnets

Inspiration: ODD Magnets

Melissa here today to share a fun summer project for you and your kids.  Make your very own ODD magnets.  All you need is your favorite Some Odd Girl stamps, pop-up craft magnets, your favorite coloring medium, embossing ink and powder, plus your imagination.

I used clear stamp set Sweet & Salty, but you can do this with any of your favorite Some Odd Girl clear or digi stamps.  I didn’t fussy-cut out my images because I wanted my magnets to be bigger and easier to handle and notice!  Also, to make them more durable and give them a bright, glossy finish, I covered the whole piece (after the image was colored) with clear embossing ink, used clear embossing powder, heat dried and they are perfect!  The embossing helps to harden them and give them a water-resistant finish (great for dirty little paws!).  Unfortunately, it’s hard to see the glossy finish in the photos so you will just have to take my word for it. 🙂

This photo is taken on a magnet board I took outside.  Just think of the fun your kids would have if you created ODD character magnets, gave them a magnet board, and let them play ‘Magnet Dolls’.  Perfect for a rainy day craft. (Ahem – Kaylee’s Closet would be GREAT for this – just cut Kaylee’s body into pieces so the magnets will fit together like a puzzle!  She’s also on sale in our Retirement section!)

Super fun, and SUPER easy!  What other sets would you use for this project?  Would your magnet board have a theme, or would you just create random, fun shapes and images for the refrigerator?  Show us your projects if you decide to give it a try!

Join us in our Facebook Community where we’re always talking about crafty inspiration, silly things, and getting to know each other – it’s the place to be, and all brands of ODD are welcome!
