Hello fellow Oddies. Tabbatha here today with a bit of fall inspiration. Don’t get me wrong, I love Halloween, but with the upcoming Halloween Hop I thought we could use a bit of plain ol’ fall inspiration, with Wave Mae of course.
As fall gets into full swing I like to take inspiration from the natural color palettes available. The falling red and yellow leaves, mixed in with the last of the green grass makes for such a striking scene. Sometimes though, I use a bit of a cheat to get my color palette. 😉 I’m taking about Pinterest and the plethora of Color Palette boards and pins available. For today’s inspiration card I used this wonderful image.
Look at that rust red with the blue tones! What I love most about fall are the red leaves on the tree, so with the case of Wave Mae I gave her red hair. 🙂 The blues come into play with her sweater, while the yellow is an accent not only in the sweater, but also with the pale khaki pants.
While I wouldn’t typically put Wave Mae in the obvious “fall” section of the Some Odd Girl shop, just by coloring her up a certain way you totally get the sense that fall is in the air. Utilizing your non-specific stamps for specific themes and vice versa are a great way to get mileage out of your stamps. Keep that little tid bit in mind this week. 😉
We are in the last stretch of ODDtober. I hope you have been playing along with the Challenges: Make it Odd, Let’s Party! and Black & White. It has been such a blast, but we have one more challenge to go this week, as well as a Halloween Hop! Keep your eye on the Some Odd Girl Blog and Facebook Community for all the deets.
