Hi Oddies! Today I’ve got a colorful card full of spring feeling for you.

My plan for today is to show you how I made this colorful and messy background for sweet Daffodil Fairy.

I began with supplies. My digi stamp, all colored up with Polychromos, some scraps of patterned paper, a couple of acrylic paints with a small brayer and some sewing thread.

I tore the paper in smaller pieces and attached them to my background. For my background I usually use a piece of heavy weight smooth cardstock, like cardstock for mixed media.

Then it’s time to add color! I just love the texture and inconsistency I get with a brayer.

And here is my finished background. I softened the colors with a white acrylic to match my already colored stamp and then created more interest with a stencil, some black splashes and the thread.

Do you like to make your own backgrounds when you create? Don’t forget to show us your SOG cards in our Facebook Community!
Hugs Susanne!
