Renew image | Sparkly gown technique

2019-03-26

This sweet image is called Renew.  I thought she looked like a little princess so I wanted to give her a sparkly gown.

This technique is very easy.  First, you color the area you want to sparkle just like you normally would then you pick a dark, medium, light and white of the color of your image and start adding dots of the darkest color in the shadows and work your way out to the white.  For the dots, you can use Sakura Glaze or Stardust Jelly Roll pens or colored pencils, for the white I used a Jelly Roll size 8.

A sparkly gown makes the perfect princess card for a girls birthday or anytime you want someone to feel special!

I hope you’ll try this technique out for yourself. It would be a great thing to try during our 12 Days of Coloring Challenge that starts Wednesday…

I’ll see you there!

When I saw the new digi, Magic Tia, I immediately thought of a Garden Fairy.  Then I wondered if she could bring on Spring?  One could only hope!  And of course, I couldn’t resist coloring her with my Copics.

I thought I would take you through the colors I used, step by step…

Dress: Y15, Y13, YG11 and BV20.
Shirt: YG21, YG03, YG25 and YG17
Belt/shoes: E81, E84, E87, E89
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00 and R20
Eyes: YG05, YG03 and YG01
Hair: E13, E15 and E09
Gold: Y11, Y15, Y26 and E27
Gems: YG03, YG17, YG67

Other items used to complete this image were a Signo Uniball white pen, Sakura black glaze pen, Sakura green stardust pen, Glossy Accents and Wink of Stella clear.

When you have this much fun coloring an image, make it the focus of your card.

I hope you enjoyed my coloring step by step! Make sure you share your coloring in our Community and join the Coloring Club. I’ll see you next time!
