Another day another intro! I’m so thrilled to have so many wonderful ladies to introduce you to! Even though I want to encourage you to get lost in the festivites I don’t want you to forget to jump back and get in on our first Challenge! Its a fun and easy one!
Today let’s stand up and say howdy to Robin!
Howdy Robin!
I couldn’t resist LOL. Robin is coming to us from good ol Canada! I seem to have a thing for Canadians 🙂 But that aside Robin showed from the get go that she had the skills and the personality to get down with us! When I got her app I had to go right to her blog and here are a couple things that drew me to Robin…
and
Now that you’ve seen it, you can read a lil about Robin…
I saw the Designer Call for the Some Odd Girl stamps! My name is Robin McKinley, and I live in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and work downtown Toronto. A little bit about me: well, I am obsessed with paper crafting – especially stamping! I love all things ink and paper, and I especially love colouring! I have worked with digital images before, and am very comfortable with them. I also really enjoy participating in online challenges, so I think that is a really great way to promote the new images! By day, I am a Reservations Supervisor at a prestigious Toronto hotel, and by night, I am a stamping machine.
I also LOVE to read, and I love animals too. I routinely go to the gym to keep active, and I try to travel as much as possible.
We’ve got Oddies from all walks of life! Robin also answered our Odd Questions…
What makes me odd? Well, let’s see… I have a 4-bedroom house – 3 of the bedrooms have people sleeping in them, and the 4th has my crafts sleeping in it. MY CRAFTS HAVE THEIR OWN HOME. They are a priority – next to my pets ; p I would say most “normal” people consider that odd.
If you were a thumbtack where would you stick yourself? If I was a thumb tack, I suppose I would stick myself in the Human Resources office at work to get some juicy gossip! I was gonna say something about being in a men’s change room for male models, but I thought that might be a tad raunchie, so I went a little lighter.
The crafty item I most identify with? I would have to say it’s one of those edge punches. They are very precise, and formula-oriented. You can line everything up and get a perfect, continuous line of pattern. I love things that are consistent! {a little anal-retentive???}
5 Random Facts:
– I am allergic to cats, but have a whole family of them at my house.
– I went to an arts high school, and majored in vocal music.
– I spent 5 months in New Zealand on an exchange one semester in University (one of the greatest times ever).
– I don`t like to drink water.
– I hold a special place in my heart for chocolate (except hazelnut chocolate), and candy (especialy Skittles).
If you had to choose between being colour blind or losing your sense of taste for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Why? I would rather be colour blind. I just couldn`t part with the taste of a great meal, or a yummy snack – simple as that!
What fictional character is most like you? Well, I am going to stay in the realm of human. Don`t laugh, but I am most like Jerry Seinfeld…realistic, and sarcastic!
Hmmmm I kinda liked the idea about the male models…..
oh… I was posting. WELL. hehe I am thrilled to have Robin on the Team! She’s also got a giveaway for ya to get in on going up on her blog! Head on over and see how you can get your freebie!

Welcome back all you Odd people! I hope you are enjoying reading all the fun and interesting tid-bits about the DT. I know I am!!! If you haven’t gotten in on our first Challenge you’re missing out! Go! Look!

Today, give a howdy to Marcie!

This is Marcie’s FIRST Design Team! Can you believe it? I know I couldn’t! The app I received during the call was wonderful! She knows her style and she plays it up! I can’t believe no one has snagged her previously! Don’t believe me? LOOK…

See? Well here’s a lil bit about our Rookie…

I have been papercrafting for about 3 years now, which started out as scrapbooking and now am mostly concentrated in stamping/cardmaking. I love to try new techniques and participate in challenges, and a good sketch is always my starting point for inspiration. Colouring with Copic markers is an area I am having fun exploring currently, and am hoping to become more proficient at. I’m a ‘mostly’ stay at home mom, working part time as a librarian, and keep very busy with my 2 children; 3 year old Jake and 1 year old Robin.

Rookie is a bit of a loose term LOL!!! Marcie was also a good sport and answered our Odd Questions…

What makes you Odd? Oohhhh tough question…honestly, I’m about as normal as they get, but maybe if you ask my friends and family you will get a different answer…haha. Maybe I’m Odd because I’m a young, ‘mostly’ stay at home mom and wife at a time where a lot of women my age work outside the home full-time, and who identifies herself as a feminist…an oxymoron some might think, but to me, feminism is about choices and I choose to stay at home and enjoy the time I have with my kids while they are still small. That’s all I got. 🙂

If you were a thumbtack where would you stick yourself? OUCH!! Why would I do that!!?? 🙂 No seriously, why would I do that? My finger I guess…my eyes are filling with tears as I think of it…I don’t deal well with pain. 🙂

What ONE crafty item do you most identify with and why? Patterned paper. I could get LOST in the patterned paper sections of any crafting store. I have SO much patterned paper it’s disgusting…I hoard it because some pieces are too beautiful and/or awesome to cut up. I just lose myself in the designs that some of these paper companies come up with!

5 Random Facts about you!
1) I have been a Type 1 diabetic for almost 25 years and wear a hot pink insulin pump;
2) I live in a VERY rural town of about 100 or so people whom I have known and loved my entire life- I love small town livin’!;
3) I refer to myself as a ‘work widow’ which is probably not very nice, but my husband travels for business so much that we joke we’ve actually only really been married 4 of the 7 years if you go by how often we see each other;
4) I’m a librarian, and books and literacy are my passion (next to papercrafting!);
5) I have 2 butterfly tattoos on my back and am seriously considering what to get for my 3rd. 🙂

If you had to choose between being colour blind or losing your sense of taste for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Why? I choose being colour blind because to be able to taste is one of the most wonderful senses there is. Can you imagine never again tasting chocolate peanut butter cup ice cream?? Didn’t think so!

What fictional character is most like you? Well, I just LOVE this question seeing as I’m a librarian and read books for a living. 🙂 I’d say Kinsey Millhone from the ‘alphabet’ series by Sue Grafton. (A is for Alibi, etc.) She’s fun, witty, smart and resourceful…I hope I’m those things too!

These questions never get old LOL! Another one where the thumbtack question leaves me lullzing 🙂

Well now that you know a lil something somethin about our Marcie hop on over to her blog where not only can you find a lot of fun but her style is so elegant! I can’t even TRY to pull that style off. She also has another GIVEAWAY for you to get in on if you can tear your eyes away long enough LOL! Go! Look!

but don’t forget to come back tomorrow! 🙂

Welcome back on this beautiful Tuesday for another introduction here at Some Odd Girl 🙂

Today let me introduce you to Jennifer!

I am slowly getting to know my wonderful DT by more than just the applications I received during the DT call and when I got Jen’s ap, I went to her blog and found a lot of things that showed me she was a girl after my own heart! From…

(I LOVED Mario as a kid… ok still!) to…
I knew she was a girl I wanted on my team! Here’s a little about Jen…

Hello my name is Jennifer. I married my high school sweet heart Jacob. We will be married for 14 years this March. We have two Christmas babies: Jennica (11) and Justin (6).

I have a BS in Apparel Merchandising and Management with a focus in Manufacturing. I work part time as a lunch lady just to get out of the house. Eventually, I need to find a full time job because my husband says I need to use my degree. Although, I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. LOL!

I enjoy all things crafty from sewing, beading, scrap booking, and my latest passion stamping. I love everything about stamping: the creating, collecting, and buying. Stamping reminds me of when I was younger: coloring, cutting, and pasting were some of my favorite past times. Who said, we had to stop doing that kind of stuff when we’re adults.

See what I mean? A girl after my own heart! She’s been fun to have on the DT and she also got to answer the Odd questions put forward:

What makes you Odd? I don’t know what makes me odd but almost every person I first meet asks if that’s my real voice. So I would say I have an odd voice. (It’s just different.)

If you were a thumbtack where would you stick yourself? If I were a thumbtack, I would be placed on a college campus bulletin board. I want to see a lot of action.

What ONE crafty item do you most identify with and why? I would say scissors. You can create beautiful things with them but you can ruin things too. (For example, my cooking. Most of the time it’s good but sometimes it’s totally wrong. LOL!)

5 Random Facts about you!
1. I live in California.
2. I like to go camping.
3. I have two kids: Jennica and Justin.
4. I love crafting.
5. I married my high school sweetheart.

If you had to choose between being color blind or losing your sense of taste for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Why? I would choose to lose my sense of taste. Maybe then I will lose some weight.

What fictional character is most like you? I don’t read much but I think I would be like Bella from Twilight.

I lullzed at Jen’s answer to the thumbtack question! What a great spot! Welcome to the team Jen – I am thrilled to have you!!! Now, head on over to Jen’s blog where she has another giveaway you could win! Not to mention that you can check out all the fun and be inspired by her creative goodness and flair! This girl has it!

Thanks for stoppin by and join us again tomorrow for another intro, an interesting read and another giveaway!
