Well, okay, maybe not PIE (although that does sound good, even at 9 a.m.!)… but a piece of SOMETHING!

Welcome back, crafty, bloggy friends! It’s time for a new Some Odd Girl challenge, and we’re SURE you’re going to have lots of fun with this one! A huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the last challenge – that color wheel didn’t stump any of you! The projects were fantastic, and we loved seeing your complimentary color projects! (Scroll down to see the winners from that challenge.)

Today, we’re looking for something that gives you LOTS of options (because we know you’re all paper hoarders like we are). Got some small scraps of patterned paper you want to use up? It’s going to allow you to dig through and find stuff that coordinates or stuff that’s too small to do anything with, or just cut into a brand new yummy sheet you’ve been itching to use. Are you ready for it? πŸ™‚

PAPER PIECING!

That’s our next Some Odd Girl challenge, and we know there are LOTS of images that will work great for this one, so how about some examples from our very talented team? πŸ˜€ Lookie!

Elena used Garden Mae
(click the pic for deets – the patterns are teeny-tiny!)

Vera used Sweet Thinkin’ Mae

Kristy used Moooey

Melissa used Tiny Baker Tia

Amy used Sweet Thinkin’ Mae

Robin used Prof Hoot
(his feathers are SPOTTY – click to see!)

Annnnnnd, there you have it! Can you BELIEVE all that gorgeousness? Aren’t you positively ITCHING to grab your stamps, ink ’em up and stamp ’em on some patterned paper? Well, let’s see what you can do with this PAPER PIECING challenge, and you might be our lucky winner of some digis of your choice!

You have until Tuesday, September 5th at midnight EST to get your entries in, and be sure to link up to your blog POST (not your general blog, please), and link back to the Some Odd Girl Challenge Blog in your post to be eligible. Those using a SOGgy image will get an extra entry!

Happy craftin’, and happy paper piecin’! πŸ™‚

Morning, craftily Odd friends! Hope your week’s been going well – we Odd Girls have certainly been looking forward to this day, and we’re glad it’s finally arrived! The new term has begun, and you got to meet all of the new Odd Girls last week, and we shared some sneaks of the brand new digi release, and today you get to see those same digis in action!

We’re so grateful so many of you joined us for our Thank You challenge, and for helping us give our departing Odd Girls a fabulous send-off. It’s always bittersweet when we do the whole “out with the old, in with the new” thing, and while we certainly enjoyed the last six months, we’re also looking forward to the next wonderful six!

So let’s get this party started with a new challenge, shall we? We know there are a lot of you who LOVE your color challenges, so we’re going to give you LOTS of options for this one!

See this here thingamabob? Read carefully!
I’m sure you all know how useful the color wheel can be when you’re looking for paint for a room, or trying to coordinate your curtains with your carpet, or playing around with something in graphic design.

Today, we are challenging you to choose two COMPLIMENTARY colors for your projects! (this is the part where you have to read the deets) To be specific, two colors OPPOSITE one another on the wheel, like YELLOW and PURPLE – we don’t mind if you add in a couple of shades, but if you choose BLUE and ORANGE, for example, you should stick to BLUE-GREEN, BLUE-VIOLET, RED-ORANGE or YELLOW-ORANGE for your additional hues. Careful not to be tossin’ in some RED or YELLOW, or that won’t work for our challenge. (we’ll make the exception, of course, for skin and hair)

Wanna see how the pros do it? πŸ˜‰ Check out our very first challenge assignments from the brand new Odd Girls, using the brand new Back To School release, now available at SomeOddGirl.com!

Next we come to our 2 favs! Our first fav totally rocked this challenge because not only her card is super cute with fun paper piecing but her sentiment is creative and totally fun! Mooey looks super cute with lots of polka dots!

Cathy did such an awesome job! It brought a smile to my face πŸ™‚ Our second fav had a card with a fun relaxed feel. Bright and warm with different layering than you see on a lot of cards. Not to mention Kimmie added a touch of bling to Ollie’s tummy which is too cute!

Congrats to both of our favs! Grab our fav’s badge from the sidebar and wear it with pride! πŸ™‚
Join us back here, same time same station, for a fun and colorful challenge that you’ll be sure to get compliments on!
