Teacher’s Pet

Hi! It’s Regan and it’s my turn to share some crafty inspiration here on the blog. Every month we host a challenge over in our Facebook community group. To spice things up, there is an optional theme that you can follow. This month that theme is Back To School! (My poor kid has been back in school since August! Haha!) But this is one of those themes that is handy to create for all year round! I now have a teacher’s card should I need it for a birthday or those thank you and appreciation days that pop up!

I colored up Teacher’s Pet Tia for the occasion! She’s colored with Copics and die cut.  We hope that you’ll join us over on Facebook and add a SOG project to the challenge folder! Remember, the theme is optional so don’t let that hold you back!

You can go see all the entries in our challenge, and enter yourself, by adding your project to the Album for the September Challenge.

{hugs}
Regan

12 Days of Coloring Starts THIS FRIDAY!

Its the end of the summer and some of you lucky people already have your kids back in school (not til after LABOR DAY here, wah!) so Some Odd Girl has an easy challenge to join in for these busy times… or not so busy if your house is quiet for the first time in months.

If you missed when we did this the last time in May then I’m going to give you a run down…

-We are challenging you to color DAILY from August 17 – 28.
-We will have a folder in our Community for each day for you to upload your pictures to.
-Colorings have to be new for this challenge BUT you don’t have to have a completed one each day. So for example, let’s say you get ambitious and make a big ass, multi-image, extravaganza; I’m not going to expect you to have that sucker done in one day. If you make it your 12 day project and upload a new pic that shows progress each day then GREAT.
-Any medium is welcome, hell, even go for crayons if you rock’em.
– Images should be from Some Odd Girl but backgrounds from elsewhere are ok.

If you have a pic in each folder by the end of the 29th then you will qualify for an exclusive FREEBIE that will only be free to those who complete the challenge. You can buy it later but pfffft, free is better, let’s face it.

That’s not hard right? We are encouraging you to take that smidgen of time to yourself as the school year gets going and just chill with no expectations of making a card or what its going to go on later… relax, girl (or boy), everything else can wait 30minutes.

If you aren’t a member of our Community then you’d better hop over, say hi, and get yourself ready. Friday will come faster than you think!

Looking Sharp!

Hi Oddies!

This month I thought I would focus on making Masculine (or gender neutral) cards!

A lot of the time I get requests for less “girly” cards due to loads of men in my family. This is something I typically find difficult as I love floral and polka dot pattern paper, but when I found these pattern papers I knew they would be perfect with the new Cactus Man stamp set!

I feel like I captured a card that someone can give either gender. Each Saturday this month I will be focusing on this theme.

I also used my new sketch for the month:

This sketch I think will be very versatile for any theme stamp you may have in your stash!

Loads of hugs,
