Goeiedag or in English hello!!
It’s Ellen here today (from now on I’ll be teaching you some Dutch words – hihi!).

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I like to make something different than a card. That’s why I’ve got two DIY (Do It Yourself) projects to show today!

The first thing I did was easier than I thought it would be. I transferred a digital image (here Tia and Fluffy) onto a pencil case. If you are interested in making this project, you need a non-printed pencil case (or a t-shirt, something else) and transfer paper. The instructions on the transfer paper will tell you how to do it (mostly you iron the image onto your object).

The second project is a homemade keychain. This is something super fun! For this you need charms, paper, a small stamp, Glossy Accents (Crackle Accents work great for a vintage look!) and maybe some extra charms. First you make your design for the inside of the charm (on this one I used different items from the Cat Lady Kaylee clear stamp set). Once you have your design all set you can cut out the circle (with dies, a punch or even with scissors). After that you glue your circle in the charm and put glossy accents over the circle. Let it dry (this takes a while) then you can customize it however you like.

Have an awesome weekend, and don’t forget on Monday we’re back with a new release!!!

Good morning Oddies!!

Today it’s Ellen encouraging you to join the current challenge.
As you know, there’s a new challenge every two weeks in the Facebook community.

The current challenge theme is THANK YOU using ANY Some Odd Girl clear stamp, digi stamp or cut file!

One WINNER will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to the Some Odd Girl store.  Three WINNERS will receive the ‘Top Three’ badge for their social media page to show off!

This challenge runs until November 24 – next Wednesday!

This is what I made; a gift tag with the Foxy and Frenchie Gwen clear stamp sets.
Does this give you any fun ideas?

I hope to see you in the Facebook community!! 🙂

Hello everyone!!

Ellen here, showing you how you get from one idea to two cards. We all know it’s tough to make so many Christmas cards in the winter period. I don’t like to make the same card over and over again, so I came up with something fun.

First I planned to make a card with a stencil and red, orange and yellow ink. I wanted to cut out a star shape but instead of throwing this away, I thought I’d keep going and make a second card inspired by the first.

Card #1:

Annnnnnnd, Card #2!

As you can see I didn’t use only the same basic elements like the stars in the center of the card, the banners (made with Angel Gwen and Snow Bunny clear stamp sets),… I also have some differences like the bow and the sequins, stamps. Still, the second card was clearly inspired by by the first. I used the same colors for the finishing touches and used the animals (from the Hipster Pets clear stamp set) with their winter outfits.

It’s a brand new month so be sure to link your projects in the linky party (at the top right sidebar of the blog)… Maybe you’ll the next star to shine right here on the Some Odd Girl blog!
