Today I decided to share with you another canvas tile project I have made for my Sis-in-law.
I thought she needed a bit of artwork for her coffee nook, and Coffee Lover Mae was the perfect digi for the idea I had in mind.
I find this stamp so adorable, and I love, love, love the sketchy look Kristy added to the image. don’t tell the other SOG digi’s but I think this might be my absolute favorite one! I was scrolling Kit and Clowder Facebook Page when I noticed that Alyce posted some wonderful sketches that I thought would be a perfect match with this stamp.
I first added distress oxide ink onto the canvas to add a bright solid colour to the background. (New distress oxide owners take note: this product takes a while to dry if not heat set, don’t oops like I did and put your pattern paper upside down on it until it drys. Luckily I had a splotchy background so it worked ok that a little bit landed on my background paper) I then added this fun pattern paper, a chipboard doily in the one corner, and added epoxy flowers and flair badge to the other side.
I wanted my image to look like she is leaning forward out of the frame. I added pop dots to only the top half of her, and glue on the bottom to make it look like she is popping up off the canvas.
Lastly I added glitter and glossy accents to the image for a bit of shine!
to make this canvas “hangable” I added a sawtooth hook to the back so that she can hang it by her nook.
I really love making these canvas tiles, as my family always wants to frame my cards but do not know how to… this way she can display it up on her wall and it is a present in itself!
I am hoping to continue making these for my loved ones. If anyone is interested in learning some techniques on how to do it. Please let us know!
Lots of hugs,
