I have been trying to step out of my creative box this month, as I feel like I am in a crafty rut!
sometimes I find the best way to get me past these anxious feelings is by trying new things. So this project I decided to completely change my crafty routine.
I usually start with finding a paper pack, then I colour an image to match the pack, and put the card together with a sketch in mind… It’s funny, as a girl who usually loves the chaotic, my crafty style is very structured.
But not this time!
First, I coloured the image before I had a sketch made up or any pattern paper picked out! Luckily, Acorn Love is mostly a neutral brown image. I then forgo the pattern paper entirely and decided to do some heat embossing instead. I have a tree bark stamp that I thought would look lovely in gold embossing!
I then decided that I would forgo my usual 5.5-inch card for a smaller 4.25 x 5.5 card since this was an experimental project.
Lastly, I added the sentiments, try as I might I did not have this in a stamp so I did have to hand write it out… Meanwhile, you may have noticed that I had to write out to, as I lost the itty bitty to stamp somewhere in the chaos. Although I am not a fan of how that part looks, I guess it goes with the haphazard sentiment!
Needless to say, I think I want to re-create this card when I have less on my plate… It will be a great before and after that I hope to share with all of you in the future. I am proud to say I got it done, and sometimes that is the most important part!
Thanks for looking!
