Kristy back with you for Part 2 of our June Color Swatch prompt. In Part 1 I gave you a pretty hot color to play with and see what you could come up with using it. Today I’m going to share what I did with my example combo and how I put it in my Color Swatch Journal.
I’ve been a coloring fiend the last couple months to get all the older digis into the new shop with proper, colored examples. I ran into Ribbon Mae and thought the color combo would be perfect to use with her…
What do you think? A little more of a hotter pink that typical for the pink ribbon but it is certainly eye-catching!
After getting her colored up, I needed to put this successful combo into my Color Swatch Journal. Mine is ring-bound so I needed a stamp to use for the example and I thought Owl-days would be a good one.
I did end up using other colors to complete the image and noted them below the color combo. I just can’t leave the image unfinished, it drives me bonkers.
It’s summer for a lot of us, so I want to challenge you to bust out your coloring goodies and give the prompt a go! Share it with us in the June Color Swatch Journal Album (in our Facebook community) so we can all see. Our Part 1 post has MANY ideas for starting points outside of the base of Copic/Spectrum Noir so check that out if you need a suggestion.
Hope you’re enjoying these Color Swatch prompts and maybe finding a system with your coloring techniques that makes it easier to choose colors for each new project!
