Funny Love

Good morning, Oddies! Alexis here with a little love for you. While what I write inside might be serious, I prefer cheesy Valentine Cards when I make them. It feels nostalgic to those little valentines that got passed out at school with the cute, but totally corny puns.

For this card, I went back to an old favorite. Octee is one of my all time favorite digi stamps. He’s soooooooo cute, right?

I didn’t have a sentiment stamp for it, but I knew exactly what I wanted it to say. So, in my terrible handwriting, I put ‘I only have arms for you’ in the little speech bubble. I think it’s cute even though I wish I’d just had a stamp.

I’m working on more cheesy Valentines this month, so check them out on our community page and let me know what inspires you most!

La vie est belle…

Hi Oddies!

We started the month with February’s new digi stamp freebie, Aquarius.

I have created a card with a shape for this stamp, thinking spring
already, although I think that today it is cold in many places, but spring will arrive with good weather soon…

The papers are from Lawn Fawn, and the stamp I have colored with the following Copic colors:

Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11.
Hair: W7, W5, W3.
Dress: RV11, RV13, RV21, W3.
Water: BG000, B41.

I have added a small umbrella and a bow with raindrops to accompany, and many pearls … I hope you like it, thanks for the visit.

Hugs!

Cristina Valenzuela.

Love Me Not Mae

This image took me back to being a teenager with her first crush.  Everyone girl remembers picking up a flower and playing the “he loves me…he loves me not” game! Just like Love Me Not Mae.

I love to use my Copic markers on these images.  Below are my steps to coloring and creating this card.

  • SKIN: E04, E11, E21, E00

    CHEEKS: R20
  • HAIR: Y15, YR23, YR24, E99
  • SHIRT: R17, R29, R39, R89
  • SKIRT: T9, T7, T5
  • FLOWER STEM: YG61, YG63, YG67
    FLOWER MIDDLE: YR23, Y17, Y15
    FLOWER PETALS: Y15, T0
  • EYES: YG67, YG63 & Black Glaze pen
    GROUND: W7, W5, W3
    OUTLINE: BG000, BG0000
  • The “He Loves Me” I printed on my laser and foiled with red Deco Foil. The heart is LF Lacy Heart and cut from foil cardstock.
  • I layered the two pieces of patterned paper together with Tombow mono permanent adhesive.
  • I put one layer of foam behind Mae.
  • The sentiment strip and heart has two layers of foam tape.
  • And to finish it off I added red sequins.

I always print my images on Neenah 80# solar white and use Neenah 110# for my card bases.  The patterned paper I used is something that I have had in my stash for awhile.  It is from DCWV and it is called Everlasting Love.

I cut out Mae using my Brother Scan N Cut and the black paper was die cut with Honey Cuts A7 Double Stitched Frame die.  The gold polka dot paper was just trimmed to 5″ x 7″.  The sentiment was die cut with the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner die and the heart was the Lawn Fawn Lacy Heart Stackables.

To give it a Valentines feel I used the red Deco Foil on the sentiment, the foil die cut heart and red sequins from Darice for the finishing touches.

I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane playing He Love Me…

Happy Valentines!

-Carol
