Hello guys, it’s Giada here! Before explaining today’s card, I want to let you know that summer is not my favorite season (I know there are holidays, but it’s just too hot!). So I’m focusing on the winter season and the Polar cub-sicle is just so cool!
First of all I printed the polar bear on a kraft paper and I chose my prismacolor pencils to color it. I usually pick up 3 shades for each color family, plus the white for the highlights. Then I add the black to reinforce the lines of the image. I decided to use rose colors for the icicle since I thought that a polar bear should love strawberries… am I right?!
This time I didn’t cut anything: I prefered to mask him with a piece of paper and create my own nocturnal background with Distress Inks. I used Twisted Citron all around the bear, then Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. I also added some white dots here and there with a white gel pen.
For the ground I used a sponge dauber and a white pigment ink. I put everything on a red cardbase, on which I stamped some snowflakes in white too. I really love coloring with pencils, since I can always see the texture of the paper!
