Hey Oddies – Nichole here!
I’ve been “fairly” inspired lately and have 3 cards to show you. My inspiration comes to me from the supplies around me, metallics like gold and silver foiling, and getting brand new stamps in the mail. Hopefully, these cards inspire you to make some fairly inspiring projects of your own!
All projects were colored using Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils and stamped using Tuxedo Black Momento Ink on 300GSM cardstock.
For Nutty Buddy – I’ve made a small scene using Rosie’s Into the Woods designer papers and ephemera, Little B Washi Tape in Gold Leaves, and featuring the Acorn Fairy stamp set. This sentiment comes in the set and is paired with a piece of gold foiled ephemera from the Into the Woods paper set.
What I love about the Acorn Fairy stamp set is that Some Odd Girl has a masculine fairy! So often you see fairies that are often very feminine – it’s rare to see a fairy could goes well on a masculine card. Even the most masculine of people in your life deserve fairy wishes.
Hello is a card that I was inspired to make from My Mind’s Eye On Trend 2 paper collection and Maggie Holmes Open Book ephemera. These two seemingly unrelated paper lines matched together so well! Filled with gold foiled accent pieces and flowers, it was too easy to pair it up with the Pixie Dust clear stamp set. The sentiment is from This and That stamp set using Hero Arts Ombre Ink Mint to Green.
Mint and metallics seem to inspire me as of late, and I love pairing them together. Such a modern look, with a touch of sparkle and shine.
You are my Universe – I was particularly inspired by the Basic Grey Aurora paper set and the Wishes clear stamp set. “You Are My Universe” is part of the Basic Grey ephemera set.
This image does not convey just how sparkly and iridescent this card is under the light in person. It features silver foiled paper, iridescent twine, silver stars from My Mind’s Eye, and Prima Iridescent bling.
Hopefully these projects will inspire you to pair up things in your stash and look at your supplies in a new way.
What have you been inspired by lately? Is there any particular paper line that you hold dear – waiting for the perfect project? Do you only pair like items together from the same paper line or mix and match with reckless abandon?
