Just a little Saturday fun… I really could use this… someone should work on it.
Good morning, Oddies! Alexis here with a new super exciting Digi release. We had such a blast during the Digi Me Contest and we loved seeing everyone’s submissions, and finally the time has come to start showing off the winners creations! We start this week with Fighter Gwen. She’s so cute and retro I just love her, and the super awesome Sara Schumann did some AH-Mazing things with this Digi Stamp and it was such a pleasure getting to work with her as a guest designer for this release.
This was her winning mood board and Kristy designed the perfect matching stamp. Her first project was a shadow box card for her friend Tama, who is the midst of her breast cancer (named Madge) battle and hates the color pink. On the back is the Stuart Scott quote “You beat cancer by HOW you live, WHY you live, and the manner in which you live”. The second project is a gate-fold box card for a friend whose strength has inspired her thru her 2 year breast cancer battle.
Are these fantastic, or what?! I know you can’t wait to go get them from the new Some Odd Girl shop (Have you seen how new and shiny it is?!) You’ll also find a new Digi called Tiger Piper in the shop today too, so snag up that cutie while you’re there!
Setup is a big part of the bonding process for our team – we delegate tasks, we bust out all the hardware and fixtures, and we GET TO WORK. It’s gruelling and fabulous, and this is often the time when some of the silliest and most memorable things are said. Things that get repeated for days, months, even YEARS after the event.
Since some of the goods hadn’t shipped early enough to be tested out at home to ensure everything goes together properly and no pieces are missing, we were QUITE pleased to find that things were FITTING! Here’s what the booth looked like at the end of day 1 of setup:
Business cards for the show were one of those things I wasn’t sure about if they would work out. Rather than double shipping a friend of mine who lives in LA so wonderfully let us ship things to her to bring to the show. I ordered them in early December but just got to see them Wednesday. They turned out so cool though! Loving the ROUND shape and that Kaylee’s head extends beyond the contours of the actual cards. Totally ODD and perfect for our brand!
One of the most awesome parts of setup is opening the boxes from our talented Odd Girls to see what projects will be displayed to best showcase our stamps. EVERYONE gets involved in this one, and sometimes it’s down to tie-breaking votes, but we love it when the displays start coming together, and it’s ALWAYS wonderful to see the talent just pouring forth from those boxes! LOOK!
Here’s The Odd Girl herself and giant Kaylee at the end of the day… Aside from the color, isn’t their matching hair adorable? 🙂
There’s been a TON of great feedback and many pictures shared around the web, so be sure to check for #someoddgirl and see what our CHA reps and our make-and-takers have been up to! You know 2015’s going to be AWESOMELY ODD, right?
