Hello girls!

Happy to met you here once more, Sadia writing today, and I want to share with you an easy funny tutorial to make a 3D card, with a spinner image inside— let’s see:

here is the inside with the spinner cute Lion Tobie digi image…. but let’s see how I made it

First cut the cardstock you need, I used a 5 1/4 x 10 1/4 inches white bazzil and a 5 x 10 red one, and folded them at 5 1/8 he white, and 5 the red. Then cut the pattern paper: 2 pcs 4 3/4 x 2 3/4 , 2 pcs 4 3/4 x 1 3/4 and 2 pcs 3x 4 1/2

then glue the paper on the bazzil as shown in the picture, make sure to glue the 3 inches pcs inside the card, in the inner side.

Once you have glued the paper, fold it as the picture, first score lone down, second up, and down again, and die the center, with a die a little larger that the image you are going to use. Then position the paper as shown in the picture, this will be the final way to glue it together, later.

now with a wire, and a needle stitch the image at the paper, making a little hole in the fold line, and down in the colored image, again up, and on the up fold line, as I show you in the image, then make a knot, and fix it with a little of glue and a little piece of paper.

to decorate the front of the card I made a rosette paperie, I made it with my cameo, but you can easily do it cutting a strip of paper punch the scallop edge, and score were the scallop make the corner, then fold the accordion and glue it as a ring and fix it. I used different colored circles to layer the sentiment which I stamped 2 colors and applied a detail with 3 D foam. and the card is ready…

I hope you liked it… and that it was clear! =)

thanks a lot for passing by, and see you very soon back

Faux fussy cut pattern take 2! with Puffer Cone Mermaid!

I found this stamp reminded me of Katy Perry a little, feels like she would have a puffer fish ice cream cone. I made a tropical feeling card, and added a little speech bubble to the puffer fish cone saying Surprise!

Hi Oddies!

As promised in last week’s blog post, I wanted to sneak in and share two more ways to add texture to your stamp images. Last Wednesday I showed how to add texture to “Sea Song Mae” tail in Silhouette Studio. This week I wanted to add a whimsical texture that you may not see on mermaids, but I thought it would be cute.

Because I tend to type a lot to give thorough instructions, if you don’t want to read my full out descriptions, please see the caption below each photo to see shortened instructions of what I am doing.

Step 1: look online for a pattern you want to use. I used a zen tangle like scallop in black and white so I can colour over the pattern, But you can use any pattern as long as it is a jpeg or png. (I downloaded mine from Creative Market a website with lots of digital resources) note I added my watermark as this was a purchase I made and I do not want it stolen. If you like the pattern visit their website and purchase it.

zentangle scallop pattern purchased from www.creativemarket.com (50 geometric black and white patterns) do not use. go to the website to purchase this pattern.

Step 2: Open up your photoshop software. (I am going old school and using my Photoshop elements, but since elements is the most basic photoshop you most likely can use any Photoshop software and achieve the same results)

Step 3: Open up your digital stamp (PNG will be easiest) I decided to use Puffer Cone Mermaid for this technique. You can use any digital stamp, but it is ideal to pick a stamp with lots of open white space. I did blow it up so I can best illustrate what I have done to the tail.

Step 4: Open up your digital pattern, select your whole pattern (make sure it is not on a locked layer or this wont work), then under edit drop down menu (might be in a different location with different programs) click on define pattern from selection. Label your pattern so you can find it again later! (note I found that you want to find a pattern that has larger shapes than small, or you may find that you can see your seams a little bit more, also want one that isn’t too symmetrical) I also had flipped my pattern so the scales were going in the other direction.

Select whole pattern> edit> define pattern> click ok.

Step 5: Go back to your digital stamp, use the Magic Wand Selector to select the area you want patterned. In this case I want her tail to be patterned. This will add the marching dash lines in the empty space.

open up image (PNG) > select Magic Wand> select area in which you want to add pattern. Note I circled the magic wand and hi-lighted in blue what was selected.

Step 6:  Click Layer on the drop down menu, then hit new fill layer, then pattern. This will bring up a box that will say Pattern fill one. Just hit ok unless you want to change the opacity from here. (if you decide you want to change your opacity you can do it from the layers box on the right hand side after)

layer > new fill layer > pattern> hit ok.

Step 7: This will bring you to a box called pattern fill, from here you can click on the arrow beside the display box, to choose your pattern. From here you can change the size of the pattern to make it larger or smaller, and it will stay in the shape you selected. (I increased the scale to 111% for larger scales)

click on arrow (blue circle)> select pattern> adjust scale (blue rectangle) > hit ok

Step 8: Your image now has a faux fussy cut pattern and you didn’t even have to take out any scissors! you then want to print our your stamp onto some white printer paper to make sure you are happy with the results. I decided that I didn’t like her fins having the pattern, so I carefully erased some of the pattern from there.

you have two options to erase pattern from areas. You can duplicate the image without pattern, and bring it to the top, then carefully erase it to reveal the pattern. Or you can select the pattern layer and then select a round brush and white paint, then paint the areas you do not want patterned. I chose option 1 because I felt I had more control over what was patterned and what wasn’t.

Step 9: When you are happy with the results Print off on your colouring paper and colour her up! I love that the tail now has a zen tangle feeling to it, and I never had to break out pen and paper to add this fun pattern.

Now for those who do not have complex editing software, you may just have to open up your pattern in whatever software you use to print your digis, print it then put it back in the printer and print out the image over top of it. Then fussy cut with regular scissors and glue it to the image you printed out normally. I am not an expert at this, but in the past, I did do this a few times to add pattern piece dresses to my images with pattern paper.

If anyone else has any tips or suggestions on how they add patterns to digital stamps feel free to let me know in the comments below!

Lots of hugs!

~Patti

Shaker card tuto: flying with Tia

2017-04-26

Hey Odd addicted! =)  Sadia writing today…here is my latest shaker card, and my short easy tuto.. so if you’d like to make it with me let’s go! 😉

First of all  you cut the white bazzil I used the printed image to decide the size, and I cut 4 3/8 x 5 ¾ and made the windows in the middle, using the “la coppia creativa” die (use a little piece of washi tape to fix it, if like me you do not have the magnetic boards).

Then print and cut the sentiment, I printed the sentiment on vellum, it’s a Silhouette file, you can print it with a home printer, and cut it just a little bit smaller then the white frame you made, and cut a soft pattern fantasy paper, to make the background. Do the same with the 3D foam, same size as the sentiment sheet (4 ¼ x 5 ½ ), and make the same windows in the middle as the first white frame.

Adhere now the white frame and the vellum, and add the 3D foam. As the glue is dry, turn it around and put the sequins and embellishment you wish to use in the space you have. Apply glue on the 3D foam, and cover it with the pattern paper. Leti t dry before to turn, and adhere to a little bigger piece of bazzil, the hot pink one, I made it 4 ½ x 5 7/8, and glue it on the folded white bazzil, (9 5/8 x 6 1/8 , score at 4 ¾ ), and the card is made! =)

I colored Balloon Tia Digi with copic… and glued it on the frame…

hope you like it! =) I Love shaker card, they are always so nice and special to give, with all the bright and sparkling movements of the sequins… and using the 3D foam to make the make the all stuff much more easier!!

That’s that today, thanks a lot for passing by, have a lovely day, and see you soon back here with more dd projects! 😉
